Persian Love Cupcakes

Persian Love Cake. Sounds sexy huh? That’s exactly what I thought when I saw this over at Couture Cupcakes. Minko (of Couture Cupcakes) entered this cake in a blog event. Minko even made her cake in the shape of hearts! If you have never gone to Minko’s than you have been missing out on some awesome cupcakes!

At Couture Cupcakes it’s all about hot men and even hotter cupcakes. She bakes up the most amazing cupcake flavor combinations. And she also manages to keep us updated on the sexy adventures of Hollywood and Australia’s leading men.So when I saw this recipe, I thought, “…I have to make this!” I was going to bake it as a traditional cake. But then I thought, “…hey, Minko’s all about cupcakes and I haven’t featured a cupcake here in awhile.” Hence, The Sexy Persian Love Cupcakes were born.

The cupcakes are a chiffon cake topped off with rose water scented whipped cream. The spices in this cake are an exotic combination of lemon, cardamom, saffron, and pistachios. I had hesitations about the dried rose petals; but they just seemed to melt into the whipped cream with no problems. The rose water definitely perfumed the cupcakes. As you bring the cupcake up to take a bite you can't help but to notice the rose scent. A word of caution, do not add more rose water than directed, if you add too much the icing will taste soapy.

Ah, ...Persian Love Cake. If you need some sexy cake in your life grab the recipe here. If you want to go over and "hi" to Minko click here.

rising steadily on my to-do list: purchase rose essence or rose water or rose petals, apply to something sweet, and enjoy. (i've never eaten anything flavored with rose!) when i do obtain something rosy, these cupcakes are on the hot list of things to make!

Absolutely sexy! These would be perfect for Valentine's I should think. I have rose water at home, and had been contemplating on using it in a cupcake. We've only had rosewater in fragrant rice, so I don't know how my family would react to it in cupcakes. I've bookmarked this, though. Thanks for sharing, sweetie :)
